This restaurant is located on an upper open deck, with great views of the esplanade & sea. A good location. It was clean and well laid out, and the manager was very quick to serve us. However, we only wanted a small lunchtime meal, but he really tried to push larger, more expensive meals upon us, which we resisted. He finally offered a smaller meal at a good price (mixed seafood in rice @ €15.99 for the two of us) The meal was 'OK', but nothing special, as there were about 4 small prawns, 4 medium mussels, and a chopped fish stick. The rest was rice. Within two hours of eating, we both had stomach pains, which later developed into full-on diarrhoea. We had no other food that day, so the only culprit can be this restaurant. Not happy with this at all.
Late lunch on Mayday holiday Monday sadly the nearby Grill Muralha Terrace (which is very good ) is closed on Monday .Both starters were the wrong dish , mine limpets instead of mussels , my wife's grilled calamari turned out to be prawns with garlic.I kept the limpets which were chewy but quite tasty . The calamari replacement took some. 20 minutes and when it arrived it was deep fried in rather heavy soggy batter."Por Favor is this grilled calamari ?" Oh no that is our fried calamari what did you order?..OK let's move on to main courses - both pork one kebab and one chops both served Dry, & Crusty cooked to destruction .. Probably cooked all the time we awaited the starter correction - these were barely edible . The chips were OK as they should be for 3.50 euros , the mixed salad correct but nothing special for 4.0 euros.We did not stay for any further punishment and will not return.On the other hand the Grill Muralha has served us a very enjoyable meal in pleasant surroundings for little more than the appalling Don Luis experience.I have no connection with either restaurant other than as a walk in customer.
